Today's Washington Post Editorial Cartoon: Subtle Disrespect for Men
"Profoundly Stupid" Cartoon?
Normally, I’m a huge fan of cartoonist Ellis Rosen, whose cartoons I find incisive and wonderfully quirky. An example:
However, I find this morning’s cartoon in The Washington Post questionable at best or, keeping in mind the Post’s history of feminist-inspired man-hating articles, a subtle example of its general disrespect for men:
Why is it that the man driving (it sure looks like a man!) who is worried about saying “profoundly stupid things”, and not the woman?
And more importantly, why would the Post publish this “New Yorker” style cartoon on its editorial page, the only time that I can ever remember the paper printing a non-political cartoon?
Again, “… with the Post’s history”….
Although it’s not worth sending a letter to Rosen or the Post, I’m including this entry in my Letters to The Washington Post because it sure looks like another example of “Postmisandry”.
